We Specialize in Family Reunions, Group Retreats and Weddings Nestled among the pines in the scenic New River Gorge area of West Virginia, The Ponderosa Lodge offers comfortable country style lodging at family prices. Each of our ten rental rooms has a private bath and individually controlled heating and cooling. The entire building is non smoking. All of the exciting outdoor activities that the New River Gorge National River and the Gauley River National Recreation Area are noted for, including whitewater rafting, rock climbing, horseback riding and hiking, are within easy driving distance. With accommodations for 32 people, the Lodge is ideal for large group events such as church retreats, business retreats, family reunions, weddings and anniversaries, and hunting or fishing expeditions. Conveniently located on Route 60, the Midland Trail, The Ponderosa Lodge is an easy 15 minute drive to the New River Bridge and Fayetteville, WV.
Whitewater Rafting Season is Here! The Ponderosa Lodge is the ideal place for your large group to stay while rafting on the New River. In the Spring, the New is known as the "Grand Canyon of the East", offering challenging rafting with massive hydraulics and towering waves. Get a group of friends together and stay with us while trying to tame the Spring New rush. Our 10 guest rooms with private baths and 1,300 sq. ft. Great Room offers plenty of space for large groups with the convenience of staying in one building. Kitchen privileges are available for an additional cost when reserving the whole lodge.
